Can we go all out to keep all our star men, release Clyne, Jairo and Ward, keep Ward at the club in some capacity, loan out Edouard and bring in Ben Watson, Right and Left back cover, and Che Adams as CF back up, both free, Hoping the Franca improves and remember he can play CAM and CF. to my mind that improves the squad, or if not Adams, loan in a CF for a season?

We’ve been linked with Ndidi and Ienacho from Leicester who are both out of contract at the end of the season.
I suppose this would partly depend upon what happens with Edouard and Jairo and which players we loan out..
One interesting player we’ve been linked is Adebayo of Luton.
He’s adapted well to the Premier League and offers something different to our current squad.
He’s outstanding in the air, quick and provides a real physical presence in attack.

If not him I think we will be signing someone similar to fight with JPM for the striker role. I don't think w will be spending a lot of money, Iheanacho will want big wages and I am not convinced he is the right fit for us. The lads at Arsenal and Chelsea are way over priced and smack of a West Ham, Forest or Everton signing.

I keep banging on about this, we don't need a 20 goal a season striker just 2 players that work hard and can get 10 goals a season. I think that is the Luton guy and JPM.

One more point

I imagine that is what the club want to do (and Glasner). I understand we are not under any undue pressure with PSR but may not have a great amount of readies for new players.

We now know that Ward has been retained (along with Schlupp and Hughes, with the latter's appearances triggering a 1 year extension) and that negotiations continue with Clyne and Matthews. If they both sign up for another year (and we don't lose any of our stars) that will make a 1st team squad of 22 plus our under age 1st team players (Wharton, Franca and Ozoh).

Furthermore, Glasner has shown he can get players to adapt successfully to unfamiliar roles with Lerma and Clyne both doing well as emergency CBs.

What money we do have will probably go on a player Glasner specifically wants.

Johnson can dribble, is quick, and importantly, can play left-back as well as right-back. I think he might surprise a few people if we signed him and would provide competition to Mitchell as well as being a backup for Munoz (Ward and Clyne are not suited to being wingbacks). I noticed Everton are apparently sniffing around now though so we'll see.
