Why does Trump inspire such intense emotion? It's not so much his policies as visceral dislike of him as a person, but why dislike someone you've never met to such an extent? Even Thatcher, who was a polarising character was criticised more for her policies than her personality so what makes Trump different?

I know, but it's highly entertaining when Wisbelch goes into one his paroxysms of hate. He reminds me of Alf Garnett talking about Harold Wilson.

It's multi-factored, but chief amongst the reason for the visceral hatred is the reality that he represents what they think of as 'toxic' masculinity.

Essentially those that hate him the most are feminists and feminised males.

To them, just having the attitude of most men from the seventies and eighties now means you're comparable to Hitler.

Load of tarts the lot of them.

Oh FFS, The man's a crook, a liar, a traitor, an idiot - listen to his speeches, ignorant, he has no recognisable qualities whatsoever.
He does appeal to the hate brigade - just like Hitler, call me a tart then.
Just look at who he admires - tyrants.
The fact that you lot admire him is simply shocking.

This thread is not about Joe Biden.

I don't see why not understanding such intense dislike should equate with admiring him. In fact I can't think of a politician worthy of admiration.

What is so surprising is why anyone would feel it necessary to ask. There are fewer things in the world more obvious.

Thatcher had admirable qualities that even the fiercest critics of her politics could recognise. Trump has none beyond a capacity to wind up a crowd. Much like the unmentionable little man with a moustache did 90 years ago. He has no morals. He is a bully, a crook and is prepared to thwart democracy.

So why ask?

By the way it has nothing whatsoever with any supposed “masculinity”. What a stupid idea. No bully of this kind is masculine. They are always cowards at heart.

Why ask? Because there's no point in getting worked up about someone we can neither vote for or against and several years of daily complaints about him are just boring.

As I have frequently said I don’t hate Trump. I pity him. He cannot be well to behave as he does. What I hate is a system which permits such a grossly incompetent man to be in a position to become the most important man in the world, fail dramatically yet attempt to overturn the election to replace him, yet still be able to run again and be a serious contender.

That’s beyond crazy. He needs to removed to somewhere where he is safe but cannot cause any more damage.
