Apologies if I've missed it but, although we've wished various players a fond farewell, I haven't noticed a thread about Scott Dann. I assume he has left?

Since he joined for the 2013/14 season he has been a good player for us, making 181 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with 16 goals. There was a time when people on here were suggesting he should be called up for England and it wasn't entirely fanciful to suggest it (he did win two U21 caps before he joined us).

He's 34 now so he may not get another club, I for one would like to wish him well whatever he does next.

Seconded. He was a tremendous player for many years and offered a threat from set plays. Soccerbase lists him at 6’1” but he seemed taller than that.

There was talk of Bournemouth signing him a couple of weeks back but that's gone all quiet as far as I know.

He was a solid player for most of his time with us and it was sad to see him struggle last season.

Dann was a great signing, one that really helped bridge the gap between the promotion team and a mid table Premier league one. Easy to forget that his form in the 18 months after he signed was so good that there was even brief talk of an England call up, and we gave him a big contract to ward off interest from bigger clubs.

Injuries did for him really. Such a big lad really needs to be in top condition to play well, but he seemed stuck in a cycle of having pre season disrupted, getting fit enough to play just about, being rusty for a few games, then picking up another injury just as he was getting back into his stride and beginning all over again.

He absolutely had reached the end of the road as a top flight player, but I'm sure he's well thought of by most Palace fans. Hopefully he'll get a chance to come back and say goodbye at some stage.

Agreed. Terrific in the air at set pieces. There's also a clip of him running almost the length of the pitch to score, George Weah-like. I know it was for Walsall, but he wasn't embarrassed with the ball at his feet either.

Yep; a good lad. Loved watching his goals and subsequent celebrations.

What a brilliant player Scott has been for us, one of the players that has cemented our Premiership status year after year.

Good luck for the future…

Agree with everything said. Hardworking honest player - great attitude. Total respect and good luck. Hope he can get a few more years in for his retirement.
It’s a shame that we don’t a chance to say goodbye and thanks to players. It used be be last home game and a substitution to get clapped off to. The decent ones anyway!

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

Yep he's been a great servant for us and as others have said his form in his first 18 months with us was fantastic.
I'd like to thank him for winning Mr a few quid over the years to.
He was always worth a couple of quid as first goal scorer at around the 25/1 Mark and czme up trumps for me a few times!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Dann won the club's Player of the Year award for 2014–15,followed by the Player's Player of the Year award for 2015–16.
In July 2015 when he would have been 29 he signed a new five-year contract with the club.
Great player for Palace
