Jacob Montes joins Waasland-Beveren on loan

Not sure what this implies. I think PV has had a look at him in training (since he is pictured training) and decided he's not ready for the PL.

However, does this move suggest he's too good for the U23's, or not good enough? Don't know the level of Belgian First Division B.

What I can say is that it frees up a slot for our official first team squad, assuming he would have been included (leaving us with 23 [Link] either for 2 new recruits or academy players.

Didn't Parish say something about us parking Montes in Belgium until he became eligible for a UK work permit?

the total is less than 23 as players under 21 do not count in 25 so furg and olise do not count. Those who are 21 such as CG , TM and MG depends when they were 21 as I think cut off point is 1st Jan 2021. Montes is 22 so he would have counted

Yes.
Also, although his is only a 1 year contract, I believe the club have an option to extend so if he proves useful in Belgium, he may well be brought over here, work permit permitting.
