For those who wanted SP to say something, you've got your wish. It may not be much but it tells us something about what the club are trying to do.

Fairly typical stuff from Mr Parish, always upbeat and positive. I don't mind admitting I'm onside with him. He loves this club and puts a lot of effort into making it a success. The start of the season is looking tricky, but we'll be OK.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

He did sound as if we would see some interesting signings, but not at any price. And not all young players but a mix . And it seemed as if he accepted he was running a bit late, considering our early fixtures were going to be tough whatever. It was encouraging to know there was money, even if not enough to not be very careful with.

He sounded positive but equally there were no negative vibes there. Hopefully the players that we need will be coming in soon and that we have fewer of the injuries from past seasons. White t-shirt and trainers?
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Very happy with the feedback and what Parish said. Looking forward to the summer and the re-shaping of the squad

I never post because I can never be arsed to sign in ! But I had to this time. My humble opinion is that we are lucky to have a chairman like Steve parish who loves the club and works hard for the club. Yes it can be a problem I’m imagining when managers come in, with his strong passion for the club, but I think as it proved with Roy and budding relationship can be achieved and with Patrick’s skills as a player hopefully some of that will filter through his management into our players and whoever the club brings in. I for one am excited about this season. Edited by Pinkfluff1981 (14 Jul 2021 9.39pm)

Quite interesting to see what he means around the transfers, and reading between the lines. 1. We won't be stupid in the market - so don't expect any Benteke or Sakho type transfers at 25m+ with massive wages. 2. The market is depressed - which on the whole is probably right (with only Chelsea, United and City bucking the trend). But that also says to me that it's highly unlikely we will get an acceptable for Wilf, so he will more than likely to be staying. 3. Need to make our money go as far as it can and take advantage of the depressed market - absolutely, Olise is a steal at 8m. However, there are plenty of rank average players out there, and I would be really disappointed to see us end up buying players like we did with James McCarthy. One that has been mentioned is Andre Ayew, which definitely falls into that category.

Well said, Steve. So great to have a real local owner instead of some oligarch or US hedge funder or oil state.
The right place at the right time |
