Everton??

7th in the table with a game in hand, won three of their last five games, lost two.
We have won at Goodison twice in the last five years and drawn once,so all in all,not a bad record. With their losing at home last out to Burnley, feel we should be good for a point.
1-1.

A win. I feel it. Almost full squad.

Tight though and probably as unjust as their win at ours.

Everton have lost 7 of their 14 PL Home games this season and they have lost 4 of their last 5 games at 'Goodison Park'.
Pickford came off injured in their last game with an abdominal injury and could well be missing against us.

We are improving as the squad builds up to a full one again. To me a draw would be great but they do have better players in theory at least. The big shock is someone not going for a defeat. Wow.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Hopefully not the dross we’ve become accustomed to over the season thus far!

Would love to see JP start, Kouyate play in midfield and Kelly or Tonka at the back with Cahill. I’d also like to see Shlupp on the left and Wilf on the right with Ebs being encouraged to go where he likes and get on the ball as much as possible.

Hodgson says Tomkins injury is long term (as is that of Sakho) and that he doesn't expect either to be available for Everton.

No point moving Kouyate to midfield at this point I don't think. He's been a mainstay in defence...wouldn't mess with that against a team like Everton. Plus Luka's hitting some better form. Also wouldn't drop Benteke just when he's starting to look dangerous again. Get Andros or Schluppy on the left, a right Ayew on the right and start crossing to him!

VG

Ward - Kouyate - Cahill - PVA

Ayew - Luka - Riederwad - Schlupp

Benteke - Wilf

We'll play for the goalless draw and lose out again.

It's early days. There's a certain gentleman who lives west of Brighton who is just keeping his powder dry for the time being.
