So we have had our goolies handed to us a few times this season by the big teams, But Benteke actually can score and darn well at times. Ezre is awesome. Townsend still has it at times. Zaha we love you. Our keeper is as good as anyone. We beat Brighton. and I think we are staying up by the current looks of things. FA Cup and League next year?

Yes we'll be in the FA cup and league next year.

4th round elimination and finish a spritely 10th.

I agree we have some good quality players. It's because of that that I find it so frustrating that Roy has us playing such negative football. With players as good as Wilf, Eze, Townsend, Guita and, yes, even Benteke, (and you could add others like Tomkins, Luka, Reidewald and PVA, maybe also Clyne and, who knows, maybe Mateta) why do we set up week after week like 4th division minnows facing giants?

bcos a lot of these players aren't as good as they used to be, or they're injury prone, our potency is thus reduced meaning defensive solidity with a counter attacking threat is the likeliest way to get a result. Where I get frustrated with Roy is when there is defensive solidity but absolutely no attacking threat, I'm taking about performances like at home to Brighton and Fulham and away at Leeds which were an absolute f*cking disgrace. I do like it when we only have few touches in the opposing penalty but they most likely end in a goal, that's not just away at Brighton but also v Spurs the other day. We don't play as good football as Southampton or Brighton but we are more dangerous when attacking.

I think we're biased...we're not that good.

Townsend, Schlupp, Ayew and McArthur work their socks off...but lack quality. Benteke, Wilf and Eze are quality on their day...but too hot and cold.

I'd say only VG, Eze Wilf and maybe Luka would grace a top 10 team at the moment.

You think Luka is that good, you put him in twice.
I wouldn't have put him in once. He was great when he first signed. Now he's pony.

Haha oops - edited. Yeah, you can see how I included him...then went back and edited him to a maybe.

For me he's got undoubted quality. That pass to PVA against united...the cross on his wrong foot for Benteke...his free kick/penalty accuracy. Just think he's mobility lets him down a bit. Could still thrive in a 4-5-1 with better players alongside him.

My entire time of supporting Palace, I have basically expected them to be pretty rubbish. That way, I get the odd nice surprise, like 1980 and 1990 for example. We're not total rubbish now, just pretty rubbish for the Premier League. And above Brighton. Overall it's slightly better than our usual yo-yo or Championship status.
As for individual players, I genuinely don't think many are that good at the moment. Probably adequate is how I would describe most of our players. Wilf is the obvious quality and Eze obvious potential.
I think a couple of our youngsters are ok though and might get some chances next season. Mitchell could improve too.

You've summed up my view as well. Also, some of those 'adequate' players were quite good in the past but now their best days are also in the past. Too easy to think of them as they WERE, not as they ARE now.

Valid. I feel that way with Dann. Great servant of the club...but unfortunately just doesn't cut it now.

I concur with these sentiments.

Disagree we still have some quality players but if you do not focus on their strengths they will look poor and lack confidence.

Injuries can be for many reasons and I expect it's again due to the system and Roy being so stubborn a lot of talk about rotation but he doesn't do this unless forced to.

Have you even been watching Palace the so called counter attacking is terrible under Roy go back and watch Palace first season being promoted on wards when we countered it was with purpose and speed now its low risk and very slow.

The other thing you cant keep playing the same way changes need to be done for when you go up against different teams we have seen this against teams we should be beating or minimum a draw yet they go and score 3 times against us Burnley game sums it up.

We are not solid in defense anymore look at the goal difference is is poor and Roy can make all the excuses up he wants about this team put 7 past us or 5 past us that is still goals conceded and as mentioned above Burnley put 3 past us complete joke.

At the end of the day for a team which has been in this league a long time now the football is unacceptable we have some quality players its not like we are using championship level players (even those seasons we used that level player it was some better football at time)

Money has been spend so this excuse cant be used, the Americans who people like to keep blaming for everything negative (cant blame SP for anything he is a god) put in cash when that was not the role coming into this club SP even stated this on day 1 they was about improving training/ground etc not the playing squad.
