There's really no subs in midfield. Schluppy I guess, but he's more of a winger.

If Luka or Jairo go down we will have to make due with a winger, or striker playing central.

Kouyate would move into midfield and Kelly or Dann would replace him in defence. But hopefully the subs will be Zaha, Metata and Schlupp with some time to make a difference.

I hope we can get a shape that lets Ayew and Eze contribute to attack - this line up has led to some disjointed performances, though it did help to beat Brighton. We've got some big guns on the bench, hopefully we can stay in it for an hour and then pose a proper threat through Wilf, Schlupp and Mateta. I'd like to see Eze alongside the striker instead of either Ayew or Andros, otherwise he falls between two stools, playing so deep he can't support the attack and his attempts to carry the ball forward end up in dead ends bcos his teammates hold their position instead of supporting him.

Well I think that of this particular front four this has everyone in their preferred position. Eze has apparently expressed a preference for coming in off the left.

McCarthy injured again.

Our midfield looks terrible tonight. We do sometimes get a hammering from Spurs, and it's on the cards tonight.

Spurs starting with an attacking line up of Bale, Moura, Son and Kane.

Ridiculous quality! Our defence is going to have to be at it again tonight

Sky's link before the ad break just now made it obvious what they think this game is all about.

SPURS, SPURS, SPURS.

In fact they even announced they were looking forward to seeing them win their third game on the spin.

7.15 Sky Sports : Tottenham Hotspur FC v Tottenham Hotspur Reserves.

This is one hell of a dig at these two players.
