If Ray Lewington has tested positive for Covid, surely Roy who is always in close proximity should be self-isolating. In which case could Shaun and Paddy run the show until the end of February, our run of easier games, to get some points on the board.

I would never wish ill on Ray and Roy, but it would be nice to watch your team play some decent football for a few weeks.

Failing that, could we not just play the under-18s in the first team fixtures? They seem to be doing alright and at least the opposition would have to do something other than:

1. Play the ball out to the flanks, and cut it back into the box. Our full-backs are always tucked in nice and narrow.
2. Foul and wind up Wilf.
3. Job done.

Proof, if ever I needed it, that during a lockdown there's little else to do but drink if you're not working.

Considering our current defence, if Tomkins isn't fit, I'd certainly try Woods. I don't even know if we still have Pierrick, but if he's fit surely he could give Townsend a rest. Pace is needed there, and less tracking back. And at least put Reidewald in midfield.

As for the two you mention taking over the team, I'm not too sure. However, you'd think Paddy and Derry wouldn't accept some of the performances we've been witnessing. Shall we say, they always seemed like 'strong characters'. However, I can't imagine Roy hasn't had a strong word or two to say, despite press conferences.

Some hideous mistakes in our recent games. Comical if it wasn't us.

without quoting neillo, i agree.

if thats not the case, children need to be engaged in proper education whilst school is closed.

jesus wept...its like kids know how to get a job done better than a manager with 40+ years experience.

Not sure Paddy or Shaun would put up with the sh*tshow we saw last night.

Roy's pre match comments - great to have a bit of a break and get some proper training sessions in.

Post match - West Ham are a very good side and played very well. Palace started well and then fell away.

Correct Roy, after 8 minutes. We should have been 4-1 down at half time. The final scoreline made it look better than it was.

Players looked disinterested, not caring and no fight. No leadership on the pitch. No plan B. It is hugely disheartening.

Have you seen our kids play?

We’d get beaten 10 - 0 every week if we played our under 18s Jesus Christ.

It’s not even that they are bad they are alright compared to our U23s who are unlikely to make a PL appearance with anyone between them. But the quality of football is a million miles away from the first team.
