St Seagulls Day?

Having just read the article from Hunter Davies book (see Below) It occurred to me that many Palace fans might gain a little pleasure from the specific day in the season when Brighton are not able to finish above us or better still are relegated, This day might be called 'St Seagulls day' and special celebrations could take place from Croydon down to the Marine parade on the south coast.
Just a thought to distract in these curious days of Covid and Trump!!

For about 20 years now, Arsenal fans have celebrated St Totteringham’s Day – the day on which it becomes mathematically impossible for Spurs to end the season above Arsenal. It is unusual among feast days by being truly moveable. Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are on the same date each year, but the day of the week changes. St Totteringham’s Day varies both by day and by date. Sometimes it begins when neither team is playing, as results elsewhere make it impossible for Spurs to overtake the Arse. Gooners then explode into the streets and the pubs, flags fly, placards come out, drunken dancing takes place. Spurs fans keep well inside, as on St Totteringham’s Day they have to pay the bets they stupidly made with Gooners, convinced that, yes, this will be our season.

I'd rather not give those w^nkers any recognition. Anyway the way we are playing they probably finish above us as they been playing ok but not had the results.

My sentiments too on both counts. The way our two clubs are going we could well see us finishing below BHA on a regular basis or even dropping down a league in the not too distant future. Potterball is getting better as they showed against both Citeh and Leeds. It's a style of football that is progressive and the more the players get used to it and hone their skills the better BHA will get.

I hate to say it but they play better football than us and soon that will be reflected in our respective league positions, maybe not this season, but quite probably next. I think they'll survive the drop this year finishing above the two doomed teams (WBA and Sheff U) and one or more of Fulham, Burnley and Newcastle.

Always found it a stupid idea when arsenal did it so definitely wouldn't want us to do it also. Would come back to bite you at some point also as arsenal have experienced for the last couple years

The reason the Gunners started this was season after season and earlier and earlier in the year it was all over for Spurs so it became a taunt that they could back up. Not heard a lot about it in the last few years in fact I am expecting Spurs to start St Gooners Day..

I am all for taunting Brighton but first we need to establish that dominance. At best St Seagulls day is likely to be the last few games of the season, hardly an achievement.

Why don't we focus on what we do first.

I celebrate it every year by taking a cool £50 off my Brighton supporting mate. B-)
