Full credit to him...he's come in and done well after a stop-start season. Has taken an awful lot of stick on here recently...and some deservedly so after a patch of poor form. But I intentionally have been watching him over the past couple of games and think he makes a big difference. Tackles, interceptions, blocks, breaking up play...don't think it's a coincidence we've taken 4 points since he's been back. Well done skipper. Keep it up.

I've been one to criticize him. His passing the last few seasons has be abject. That being said, the Spurs game was probably the best I've seen him play in 2 years. He had 2 or 3 long passes which cut through their midfield. He also intercepted a number of passes and took the ball off 2 or 3 players. And, of course, he picked up his customary yellow card Let's hope it continues (not the yellow cards)!

Agree. It was the best I have seen him and McArthur play for ages. They stopped Spurd playing through the middle and most of their passing was bang on. Luka was definitely brought back too quickly after Covid, when he looked like he was running through quicksand, but he's looking very sharp again. Originally posted by Daddyorc

He was unlucky with that yellow because it never was one, Friend he is not for us. Luka is when on form a must for the squad but he just needs to be more aware of making his entanglements a bit further away from the edge of our box, he was subbed correctly though and at the correct time against Spurs.

Maybe Jairo's rise has given him a catalyst to train a bit harder.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I, too, have been a critic of Luka but have to confess he did well on Sunday and was very unlucky to get a yellow (unlike against WBA where he was rash - even stupid). He needs to be far more selective in when to tackle near our penalty area. Hope we get to see again the Luka of 3 or so years ago on a regular basis. This would allow Hodgson to ease Riederwald back in at McArthur's expense at some point during the season Jimmy's been a great servant but I think his starting days should be coming to an end soon.

McArthur is still able to do his stuff but I agree and so will he now that he will become more useful as a supersub as time moves on, he has been brilliant for our club.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Yes he is, but his talents are fading. I wouldn’t mind seeing us shell out for Conor Gallagher if Chelsea will let him go permanently however. He is just the sort of player we need.
