I am reading through everything, we have threads, Roy out, benteke, parish , ffs even throw ons ? Blaming roy for everything , “ruined benteke”
“Can’t utilise throw ins”

I mean , this is our second best start to a premier league season
Ok, so we have had 2 bad results in a row, however , tonight’s result you lot surely arnt going to ping on Roy are you? He did what everyone wants? Make subs early etc ! 3 mins before their first goal we had 2 massive opportunities to score

My earliest palace memory was when my dad took me to a game when I was 5 in 1993 against Oxford ! We won 2-1 Chris Armstrong scored twice .
That season we were promoted and and 6 years old I couldn’t contain my excitement to play Liverpool first game of season! My optimism was very quickly destroyed as I saw us get heavily beat 6-1 at home first game of season. From then on I learnt never to expect too much. We are the underdog, always will be , don’t forget our team that was promoted in 2013 was favourite to be relegated to league 1 and first season in Orem after 4 games we were 1-16 to be relegated !
Have a little faith people

Up the palace

“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

Hear, hear.

We could and should have won both the last two games. I have enjoyed the constructive comments on the match thread but when we lose a game constructive comments are becoming harder and harder to find.

The difference is, this is the most expensive and strongest squad we have ever assembled. We will more than likely win next week which will further paper over the cracks, hodgsons terrible one dimensional, plan a, dire to watch tactics.

Will we go down ? no, because our squad is better than atleast 3 others in this league, nothing to do with hodgsons management at all, his tactics 100% make us less effective and less competitive. The players must hate playing under him, im sick of watching us play under him.

8 wins in 11 months.

Dreadful performances.

2 of the sides we beat were relegated and 2 newly promoted, 2 of those sides played 1 preseason friendly before we played them and were drastically under prepared.

The other two wins were against Brighton (had the worst form in the league when we played them) and Newcastle (drab 1-0 win from a set piece). Our performances against both sides this season have only gone to highlight our slow decline.

We should be performing better with the players we have.

I think we've managed 28 points since the start of the year.

No 👍

Get him out. We can’t even keep clean sheets now. What is he even here for if not that?

Im vindicated. for recognizing this old slog for what he really is. A chancer. Almost ran liverpool to the ground. pissful performance at the helm of england with so much talent at his beck and call. now has one of the strongest palace clubs and has results that are bang well average what the squad can produce? and its ok? how ambitions of a 73 year old manager coincicde with that of mid twenties go getters? so our club's master plan is having a neanderthal manager get bailed by Zaha to keep us in the league? And we wont Zaha leave? s*** all lives matter. Hodgeson out! CP will be the better for it!

"We cant deny we've missed Zaha's quality"
Before the Burnley game Hodgson said something along the lines of Zaha wont be missed!
So theres the bloke running the first team who don't know he's missed from his Mrs
I dont want to see him sacked but I really hope to f*** he retires at the end of the season.

You need to take points off clubs in a similar position, so it’s really galling to lose 6 points to Burnley and Newcastle in a matter of days.
It could be argued we had misfortune and found the opposing goalkeepers in form, but we definitely contributed to our own downfall.
I was a strong critic of Roy last season, but feel it would be harsh to be too critical over the last couple of games.
Players have made pretty basic errors e.g in failing to roll simple crosses across the 6 yard box to be finished .
One concern is we haven’t looked as tight defensively in the last two games.
Although the goals came late yesterday we gave up quite a few opportunities beforehand to both Joelinton and Wilson.
As others have pointed out age may be catching up with some of our players which is not a surprise.
On the plus side we potentially have Zaha, Tomkins and Mcarthy to come back in to offer more energy and bite.
The real problem is the absence of a goalscorer who can turn defeats into draws and draws into wins.

But we didn't... You're making it sound like we were desperately unlucky in both games which clearly we weren't... We were awful and created hardly anything..

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

We are like a jigsaw - we go to pieces in the box.

Against Burnley we fluffed 1v1 chances with the goalkeeper.Furthermore there was that that incident whereby McCarthy put too much pace on the cross and Batshuayi just failed to connect at the far post.

Against Newcastle we had our chances with Schlupp drawing a save from Darlow, the Benteke header which was saved, The PVA effort across the box which was too far ahead of Batshuayi and the effort which was blocked by Fernandez throwing himself in the way of the ball.
Sadly we lost that game due to Dann who does not have the pace required, and some would assert that they have seen milk turn quicker.Perhaps at his age, 2 days in 5 days took their toll.

I've defended Roy against some of the more ridiculous critisism on here, but football's ultimately a results business. And if you go back to when play resumed last season, our points tally would have us relegation certainties.

A win at West Brom would see a step back from the brink, a defeat though would put him under pressure.

In terms of the last 2 games, I've seen us play worse and win. Both defeats hard to take. But last night's team selection was baffling and I'm sure like many others, when I saw it I feared the worst.
