Possibly the biggest piece of paper nonsense ever, but links of a £15m move to Spurs. Obviously, many Palace supporters would personally carry him on a litter through the streets of London if it would sweeten the deal. That said, ones first reaction was: huh?

Doesn’t sound right, but I do get the impression Palace have been trying to get him away. So maybe it’s a case of getting some interest out there.. Edited by Putitout (28 Sep 2020 3.58pm)

Spurs did sign Llorente a while ago as a third option striker who could offer something different, and that actually worked out pretty well for them. Benteke could be another version of that, although Llorentes form for Swansea before that move was a damn sight better than Christians for Palace (his goals for Swansea against us are burned into my memory!!!)

The biggest piece of nonsense is the price being quoted but I think that Benteke could benefit from a move away from Palace much as Sorloth did and it may just be what is needed for him to find his scoring touch again

It would typically Palace to sell him to Spurs only to see the Old Benteke (of his Villa days) return!

I honestly expected (or was it hoping) to see Benteke used in some kind of deal with Trabzonspor for the Leipzig money. Who knows, perhaps that was offered? It would make sense for everybody.

In the right team, with the right tactics, with a fresh chance and confidence, Benteke could well fire again. Personally it's a risk I'd take if I was Jose.

Thanks to my wife, who's a keen Spurs fan, we've followed the career of Christian Eriksen closely. Conte doesn't seem to respect him much, so Eriksen's time at Inter Milan may be short. I think if Benteke played with a midfielder who can deliver balls as well as Eriksen, Benteke might enjoy a bit of a resurgence. We don't have such a player; few teams do.

Apparently CB has sold his house and is now renting. Would he need to do this if there is any truth in the Spurs rumour? May be more mileage in a move abroad? As I have said before it may be best for both parties if he moves on. Good luck to him. Getting him off the pay roll would be useful and a transfer fee would be a nice bonus.

I definately agree with the first part - Although I dont see Spurs as being that club to get him firing again - too high profile , too much spotlight & quite frankly too much competition for places ( the only way spurs would be interested in him is as a striker to play maybe 3rd place behind Kane to help out with the fixture congestion when they dont want to risk their main man - I could certainly see some European or less high profile club as being ideal for him Originally posted by sprites
