I wouldn't change the back 5 despite misgivings about Mitchell and Ward. We don't have better available unless we fancy Schlupp at left back and I don't. I'd go McCarthy, McArthur and Meyer as a middle 3. Meyer would sit in front of the other 2 but they could still break and he'd drop back. Gives the defence some cover and, perhaps the odd spark with Meyer. Eze, Wilf and Ayew up top. Your thoughts?

If Max Meyer played 10 games on the spin, he would become undroppable by the end of them. That's just my view.

As to the team for Manure, I agree the same back 5 as for Soton. I think RH will stick with 4-4-2 with Wilf and Bats up front leaving a midfield of Edited by doombear (16 Sep 2020 4.40pm)

I get what you are saying, I really think there is a player in there, but with Roy and his holding shape constantly, I didn't think we will ever see it. I think playing for a club like Leicester, or maybe Wolves, where he could be let of the leish, you'd see a much better player. Unfortunately I dont think we will ever see the best of him, and I think we should move him on.

Batshuayi looked far, far, far from ready v Bournemouth. Eze still needs fitness but I think with him, Wilf, Ayew and Meyer we might just eke out an attacking moment or two. Then its just luck if it goes in. Starting Bats is starting with 10 men-- he's not ready yet.

Batshuayi Its Man United first game of the season. Let's attack them from the start and show no fear. Get into them. Use the skillful players to run at the defence taking players on. Gets balls into the box for Batman to play off. Jairo would be the ideal player to get the ball forward into the attacking players feet.

Bats & Sakho far from ready. Is Riedewald over his injury? I'm all for going at United, but that's not how Roy has drilled them to play.

Meyer needs a decent run in the side. We haven't seen the best of him yet.

Hear what you say regarding Bats but the week before he scored twice in an international, Think the whole team just had an off day against Bournemouth as they weren't motivated
