Even with our recent signings and getting Batshuayi on loan the BBC football pundit forecasts CPC will be relegated - let’s prove the w.nk.r wrong

I can see Fulham and West Brom going straight back down. Leaving Leeds with a chance of staying up. That leaves one more spot which I think has West Ham’s name on it.

We will just about survive, I had us for a nailed on relegation if we didn’t make some signings, we are getting some new faces in and we will be ok...

Whilst I love a pop at the BBC I don't think he is being outrageous.

I hope with our signings and hopefully more to come we will have a great season but all it takes is a few key injuries, and the way we played those last 8 games...

Let's hope somebody has pinned that up on the dressing room to motivate the lads.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Lose our first couple of games and the vast majority of posters on the HOL will be saying the same.

To quote McNulty:

Last season - 14th

"Always an element of risk suggesting any team with Roy Hodgson in charge will go down - but they had a dreadful end to last season and could yet lose their most influential player Wilfried Zaha.

This is one where the crystal ball may be a bit cloudy but Hodgson needs a good start.

Eberechi Eze is an exciting addition while Michy Batshuayi back on loan will add threat. If Zaha survives the transfer window cut again then a higher finish is very possible but just feel a little concern in my bones for Palace"

Not exactly writing us off and a fair summation after the end of last season.

Given the way we finished last season it is hardly surprising that we are not only one of his selections, but also one of the bookies favourites for relegation.

Given our lengthy injury list I would also say neither are too wide of the mark. If we can avoid anymore injuries we should just about be OK.

I'd say Brighton, WH and Villa are bigger candidates for the drop.

I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not.

A lot of pundits see us dropping predominantly because of our form at the end of last season.

In practice we played a lot of good teams.

That said, it seems entirely reasonable for people to predict we'll drop. The rump of our squad was already old. Now it's older.

We've added in important areas, but we still have serious vulnerabilities and weaknesses

I really don’t understand why people are always so negative and actually think that we will get relegated or buy into we are fourth favourites to go down.

Our squad is strong, Roy has a formula which means we will not be fighting relegation.

We were poor towards the end of last season but the players had nothing to play for and lacked motivation, that is flipping obvious.

Brighton, West Ham, Burnley , will struggle alongside the 2 favs to go down. Leeds everyone In the industry seems to think they are safe (on what basis?)

I saw on the predicted lineups Leeds are due to start Bamford up top and West Brom Robson Kanu. On that basis I think we’ll be ok this season.

Vive le Roy!
