I think it was stated that there was a slight niggle when we signed him.

One training session with us; off at half time with a groin niggle; withdrawn from the U21s through groin strain.
How do we do it?!!!?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

He did play in all 46 league games for QPR last season, and 42 the season before, which suggests he has not previously struggled with injuries. Given we have just paid almost 20m for him this could all just be precautionary. Why risk him for an England U21 game?

It would be bloody typical though if we finally make an exciting signing only to see him ruled out before he even kicks a ball in the PL.

I always think back to Mike Elwiss (I think that was his name). We got him from a Lancashire club (Blackburn?). Some of us were a bit dubious when he came and for the first couple of games or so. Then he started to bang the goals in, I started to get really excited, he got injured-end of career as far as I recall.

Matt Clarke IMO one of the best goalkeepers this club has had. Played about a dozen games, picked up an injury, never played again, gutted.
