Just wonder if we have any players out of contract - who could leave before the season is finished - in June? Would this put a few teams at a disadvantage? Also with the continuing failure to control Covid-19 is next season likely to happen as a spectator sport?

I think that in general clubs will be letting players go possibly more than normal to trim their wage bill. This may not impact their first team squad but further down the chain. On the plus side I believe there will be bargains out there so ironically our transfer strategy of the last couple of years will now be adopted by others. I expect to see lots of loan deal, free transfers and reduced fees across the board. The players who will really take the hit are the average ones. We have a number in our squad who may have to take a pay cut if they want a new contact. Buyers market.

This is what the BBC think about us . . .
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Think Dann has been decent and made an impact this season and could be given a contract extension as we look safe

Also got me wondering about Sorloth contract and terms of loan deal ; If Turkey had significant problems with Covid-19 would his loan been subject to exceptional circumstances.

Interesting. Mainly Sakho but also Dann are bloody expensive now. Goalkeepers can’t be included in this diagram because Guaita is not past his prime at 33.

That BBC chart... peak, prospect.... It does beg the question depending on when the season runs until what happens with the transfer window? And what happens with players that have already signed to move at the start of the window, and returning loanees. If contracts are drawn up everyone is honour bound. I guess squads are already named for players coming in, but if you have 2 or 3 leave, as you say you are at an obvious disadvantage. I can’t imagine there are loads of players that will make huge difference to PL squads at either end of the division. Could have been a bigger talking point had Liverpool not smashed the league already this season and a couple of big names were moving on. Can’t see fans back at games before November. I base this on there being a vaccination and or better treatment being available. It will be interesting to see how everyone takes to watching it on TV without an crowd and atmosphere at the game, potentially at a pitch without the stadium wrapped round it. Might end up with huge sponsorship walls instead. Regardless of how it is done the look and feel will be different.
