Wickham & Daly out, Tosun (injured) in
Scott Banks in, loaned straight out.
I think we are actually worse off.
Think the Doug is trying to undercut Roy to get him out, take over on a caretaker basis, and hang on to the job because nobody else will come. Dougie is then a Premier League Manager. I think that’s the plan.

I think Pardew had a better balanced team than Hodgson, we sorely miss a Cabaye type player.

Indeed we do, a much understated player.

Haven’t posted for a long time as genuinely embarrassed by many comments posted on here. Why on earth would anyone want to stage a protest at today’s game? I am just as frustrated about the lack of new transfers as the next person, but just take a breath and look at where we are & with the limited players we’ve had to choose from. We are in 11th and I know all the negative responders will say we’re only 7 points off relegation zone, but I prefer to stay positive and say we’re only 4 points off being 5th.
I know the last game was a massive disappointment, but I m hoping it was just a game too far with all the injuries we’ve suffered. We’d only lost once in the previous 10 before Southampton & that was somehow losing to Newcastle, who we were in total control over & drawing away at Southampton who again were in total control until Kelly’s crazy back pass. Earlier in season we somehow let Wolves equalise in the last minute; but for fine margins we’d be in 5th place now & I’d bet you guys would still be moaning.
The boys have had a good rest & a few have returned from injury so no excuses now. It’s time to get behind Roy n the team and worry about the lack of transfer activity at the end of the season.

Daly was no where near the first team, so in the current situation , doesn’t really count.
I don’t know a lot about Banks. But Tosun (wasn’t injured when we signed him) is better than Wickham (will be injured getting out the car at Sheffield Wednesday) so I can’t see how we are worse off.

I really don't think he is.

His best season for us (the rose tinted glasses one) 5 years ago he really wasn’t very good, had pretty much no competition upfront, scored 6 in 24 games , was a handful in a few games , but anonymous in most.
Since then he’s scored 5 goals, 1 a season.
The fact that you and others keep alluding to the fact that he scored away at man city , when he never, is some serious straw clutching. Never known a player to get so much praise for standing behind someone.

If we're lucky with injuries we will actually be stronger than in the last 10 games or so, as Townsend missing has really hurt our game and Ward is a much better right-back than Kelly. If however we have similar injury problems then we will be worse off in terms of numbers as we have one less senior player than when the window opened (albeit Roy never played Camarassa) and we have loaned/sold some of our more senior youth players. Ferguson would probably have been behind PvA and Ward this season barring injuries anyway, so if they stay fit in the short-term it would have made little difference if we'd signed him.

I'm fed up as I was hoping for someone new to add some excitement and interest, but with players returning we should be more than capable of at least securing another 10 points. Today's opponents have looked to go for it to build on a strong season, we have consolidated, and that to me is the biggest disappointment.

There can be no doubt at all that our squad is much smaller and weaker now than it was before the window.

What’s most disappointing is the lack of ambition, we are no longer looking up the table it’s just a matter of trying to stay clear of the relegation battle in my opinion. Bearing in mind that the teams below us have either started to dramatic improve like Watford or invested in new players like Villa.

Tosun is better than Wickham, who really doesn't look fit at all and will benefit from a proper run of games in the Championship. Daly was never going to play for us.

I'm pissed off with the window too, but silly conspiracy theories and exaggeration isn't the way to think about it. The fact is that the owners want to spend as little as possible, and since we don't look in any immediate danger in the league, they're not inclined to throw in a single penny. Tosun coming in was probably conditional on arranging for Wickham to go out!
