Referee: Jonathan Moss
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Aged 49, he was in the middle for two other Palace matches this season - both at Selhurst. The first was the 0-0 draw v Everton, the second was the 2-0 win v Norwich. Because of his build, he is often accused of being unfit, but he’s actually very nimble and has fantastic acceleration. He was a PE teacher in his younger days, Originally from Sunderland, he now lives in the Leeds area. Assistants: Marc Perry, Eddie Smart. Fourth official: Andy Woolmer. VAR: Jarred Gillett. Assistant VAR: Richard West.

Indeed he was a PE teacher.I recall hearing about an ex-pupil he refereed in a PL game and awarded a red card to the chap but alas after a few tipples I cannot recall the name of the player. Oh no! Not Jon “anything can happen” Moss! Sometimes he’s strange decisions can go for you and sometimes they go against you. Although VAR may stop some of that.

In fairness, he had to referee without linesmen more often than not.

Didn't shine himself in glory when giving a pen to the Spuds against the Scousers even when he himself was unsure whether the defender had touched the ball !?!
