Are you more interested in being entertained/excited or not being relegated ?
This isn’t a moan, just been thinking it for a while.
Sometimes I think it would be a relief to be relegated and watch a team that tries to win matches and score goals rather than playing 8 defenders at home games to teams like Watford.
We need something between Pardew (with his 4-5 defeats) and Roy with 3 defensive midfielders in home games.
For a while now I’ve been going to Palace out of habit, rather than really looking forward to it.
As others have said if we get relegated without the ground being improved, what would have been the point? To create a load of 20 year old millionaires?
I’d like the main stand to be re developed as soon as possible, that way we will never end up being moved to Godstone/Purley or somewhere like that.
If I owned the club and was all about the money and staying up, I’d keep Roy until he goes to a nursing home, but other clubs have changed ‘safe’ managers , like Brighton and Millwall and the new boss has completely livened up , pretty much the same players and changed the way they play.
I understand after FDB why Parrish would be reluctant, but as a fan I’d like to celebrate a few goals and watch players that don’t look scared to pass the ball forwards. The biggest buzz I get at Selhurst at the moment is the 5-10 minutes when Meyer comes on.
Can’t knock the manager as his job is to keep us up, but is anyone looking at who is coming in next?
Just seems sometimes that we are looking at the short term money rather than a long term plan.
As I said at the start not a moan, just wondering if our most successful period in our history, is also one of the most boring?

That's the big question but all the time we're in the Premier League a lot of the kids are supporting us rather than Chelsea or Arsenal. Also I put up with the sh!t if it means giving it to the plastics once in a while. The wins against Chelsea, City, Arsenal and United are priceless.

One thing for sure is there's no next level without stupid money.

Why is everyone saying we are boring to watch, frustrating we are yes, but boring just because we miss too many opportunities is daft, last season we dominated so many teams and just somehow failed to bang the ball in, Hodgson would look exciting as hell with a simple fit Glen Murray, it's as silly as that.

Results over performances and fans go nuts.

now we are an established PL club i would rather we just stayed up & competed around mid-table than did the same in the championship and went into administration within 5 years.

i hold no ill feelings towards pardew as he did a good job for us, his undoing was the plan to play a better brand of football when what he was doing worked just fine.

i hold no ill feelings towards hodgson as he is doing an amazing job for us, i cant slate his subs or his dislike of change as he is (once again) doing an amazing job and takes us forward season on season...i hope he stays another 5 years.

i used to say i would rather be in the championship as its more competitive but f*** it, i would rather have a club to support that didnt have to sell its ground back to its rich owner to avoid a points deduction.

preston currently have the lowest wage budget in the chanpionship at an average of £8000 a week, thats f***ed up & un-sustainable without PL money.

The Premier League could be exciting again if we sorted out our squad. We've got ourselves into a real mess with an ageing squad on big wages, and no exciting young prospects coming through. We need to play Roy's style at the moment, and if we get through and begin to recruit properly (yeah, I'm not optimistic either), we could potentially have an exciting project to watch develop. As things stand though, it's pretty dire.

today we had woods daly & perrick (sp) on the bench, personally i would be happier if we signed nobody in january and brought thru those 3 players, and mitchell to see if they were good enough, we wont get relegated either way but we could save ourselves a fortune in transfer fees, and the idea long term is to invest in the academy to produce 1st team players, well we already have an academy and we dont use it.

I agree with you completely. I don’t think we are boring in the slightest. We have a way of playing and it is certainly not 11 men behind the ball and hoof it forward. People seem to have their blinkers on because it is is Roy in charge but we play nice stuff I am a big fan of a decent defence and enjoy watching defenders do their job well which we do.

think it only feels boring this year, as we have 'no teeth' up front.

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

Yeah you are probably right. For me the most exciting times have always been when we have a proper goal scoring striker , that can get a goal from nothing. Wright, Bright, Armstrong, Jansen,AJ, Murray.
