Not sure that Watford have ever forgiven him or Wilf for that penalty award in the play-off final.

Wouldn’t be too unhappy if history repeated itsellf.

Normally a pretty good ref, let's hope for a good performance from him and us and a poor one from Watford.

I am determined to live until I am as old as I look.

I just hope they are not to exited about Pearson getting the job as manager. This could be trickier than it should be.

Most of the players will be thinking Nigel who ?!

Or going by his reputation worried about how he will react to them .

Watch out for the J Mac neck grab or a Deeney / Pearson punch up.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

can someone explain to me how a player can foul someone in front of the official, who waves play on then books the player who has been fouled because he thinks he fouls the player who fouled him?

Very poor performance from a 'top' referee. I despair sometimes... he certainly seems to have a problem with Wilf these days. Shocker.

Mistakes are irritating but can be put down to human error.

Wilf's booking yesterday does not fall into that category.

Atkinson was following the ball and he booked Wilf because he wanted to believe it was him that committed an offence whereas in fact it was the Watford player. He should have been booked and Palace awarded a free kick.

And, with respect to Superhorns3 who is a welcome poster on here, I sincerely hope Watford go down this season. It doesn't seem to matter which collection of mercenaries they select, they are a team of play acting , cheating thugs with that jailbird up front orchestrating events while always moaning to the referee.

Always thought Atkinson was one of the best refs but he seems to have completely lost the plot this season.
Zaha’s booking was a diabolical piece of reffing. Only possible excuse could be that he was misled by one of the assistants.
Unfortunately a by product of VAR is that it’s lilkely to introduce more politics to refereeing and football’s governors should have recognised this before going ahead with it.
