According to an SPI ranking predictor, which seems to have an in depth explanation as to how it works. It has Liverpool winning with 90 pts, Man U finishing outside top 6, us in 8th with 50 points, and Aston Villa, Watford and Norwich relegated.

I certainly cannot see us finishing in 8th place but I have never been a lighthouse of joy apropos our prospects and accurate prognostication of such matters has not been my forte. It remains to be seen whether the SRI predictor has us in 8th place after the next 5 games ! As for A.Villa, I have never viewed them as relegation candidates but in my humble estimation Norwich will plummet through that dreaded relegation trapdoor. Edited by Willo (11 Oct 2019 10.30am)

Very hard to predict this season, which makes for a more exciting season. I can see us finishing anywhere between 8th and 18th but the same could be said for most teams. Norwich have to be favourites to be relegated, with 13 first team players out injured it's not looking good for them. Let's hope Watford keep up their terrible run as it would be good to have two of the relegation slots sorted. Fingers crossed that Brighton Potterball take up the third one.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Most of that seems plausible, apart from maybe West Ham, i think are better than that. You could literally swap our position in 8th with West Ham's. I still maintain we have the weakest squad for 5 years or so.

Isn't there traditionally one team that plummets from the top, then tries to arrest their slide before the Relegation Zone? Looking like we're climbing the steps of that slide right now. Hopefully we'll get to The top, and politely decline like the kid with Vertigo, and slowly descend the Steps stopping halfway thinking 'Next time' I'll go all the way...

We have an absolutely horrendous run of fixtures coming up. While we have undoubtedly had a good start, I would be very reluctant to say we will definitely finish top half (I reckon 10th/11th) when we have only played Man Utd and Spurs of the (before this season at least) 'big six'.

If we can manage to pick up enough points to keep us in the top half by January and then get a few players in including a goal scorer I think there’s every chance we can achieve a top eight finish.

Weve not been playing the football of a top 8 team but we are hard to beat and good away from home. I just hope we can get to Jan around 10th cause we desperately need a striker. If we can get batshuayi back in jan then I'd def give us a shout of getting top 8.

We’ll see what Parish is made of in January (I think we already know. Any Owner with the slightest bit of ambition would buy a top Striker and creative midfielder in the real hope we can crack Europe. I’m sure our Board will be content that we’re over half way to the 40 mark and see it as a free window.

If we can get to new year and be hovering around 10th then we have an excellent spring board, however, parish may look at it and think 'well, we won't get relegated so why spend the money?'... we are broke, we have no money, it's that simple... we over spent tryign to fix things and stay up.. it worked, now any money we do have is going on the youth and what not.
