Holger Czukay, bassist (and much more) with Can. RIP. I went to "The Can Project" live at The Barbican in April and he was too ill to be involved. Then drummer Jaki Liebzeit, who was due to play, died shortly before the event! Holger was an incredibly inventive musician. Aside from Can's great 60s and 70s albums, he also produced some fantastic solo albums and also worked with people like Jah Wobble and Eno.

Soo strange. I think it was Sunday that I decided to play Movies on vinyl, perhaps the first time in years and years. Such an extraordinary musician. Crystal Balls, you've always had good taste in music.

Emre Can, who plays for Liverpool is German and everyone seems to pronounce his name as Chan. I've always heard the band referred to as Can, as in a can of baked beans. Who is right? Has everyone been mis-pronouncing their name all these years? Edited by Slimey Toad (06 Sep 2017 6.48pm)

Everyone goes on about the experimentalism of Prog and post punk, but the Jerrys were far ahead in noise innovation during the 70s. Check out Music von Harmonia. Harmonia were a kind of Krautrock supergroup composed of members of Cluster and Neu!

My German is non-existent, so I can't say how the German pronunciation works. Maybe the band used the English pronunciation of the word "Can"? Anyone know?

Crystal Balls, you've always had good taste in music. Thanks, mate! :-) Only Ermin and Damo left now I think? Sad so many great musicians gone in recent years. I suppose it's inevitable, but it seems like there won't be many left soon
