I'm always sceptical about the build quality of a lot of the android boxes, as oftern reports are luck of thee draw if they send you one which works or not. a little bit more hassle to set up - but by no means difficult.

I've had custom built raspberry pi boxes, low end android boxes, them tried out two high end boxes (wetek and minix u9-h which were both £130ish) and yes these things were all incrementally better than the last and yes you can get an unsupported okay android box for £50-60 but it won't be supported long. I sent them all back (except the pi which now does my home security) and my shield is the best thing I ever purchased. If you can't afford it then an amazon fire tv followed by a fire stick is probably the way to go.

I use a Chinese box purchased off Amazon and have no problems. Look for a box with 2gb of ram and using Amlogic S905 or S912 chip. In addition make sure the order is fulfilled by Amazon in case you need to return.
I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |
