Forest Hillbilly Flag in a hidey-hole 19 Mar 17 6.29pm Send a Private Message to Forest Hillbilly Add Forest Hillbilly as a friend

My parents took me to see Nookie Bear and Roger in Margate in the 1970's. Funny and friendly on TV.

Roger was obviously in hospitality for hours preceding the show, because he arrived on stage spouting lots of adult words.
Shed loads of people walked out after 5 minutes, and I was escorted out with them by my parents. My grand dad was restrained from punching fck out of Roger De Coursey, and my GD was an ex-army boxing champion.

lots more to come, but I'm sure a few other HOLers have tales to tell

Around 1995 one of my housemates in Chichester was an actor. He asked me to see him in a production at the Festival Theatre, with a social with other actors afterwards.
Sir Derek Jacobi was the leading actor in the play.

I was a little merry before I got to the theatre, but had a few 'liveners' in the interval.

When the curtain went down, I headed upstairs to the VIP area to be met by my mate Will, who immediately introduced me to 'Des'.
I started stammering in the presence of an acting great, which made me /him think I was taking the pi55 out of his role in "I Claudius"

Sir Derek Jacobi: very nice man
Me : a bit of a Cvnt

Back in 2008, I was looking to share a flat midweek whilst working in Streatham and living at home with my family at the weekends.
I received a phone call from Laura Hamilton who was looking for someone. She lived too far away from Streatham, but I eventually shared with her boyfriend.
I got to meet her a few times and the photos online do not do her justice. She was absolutely ace and a really nice person too. We sat and talked for a few evenings.
Nothing happened as she was 25 and I wasn't.

I met Adele at a fan meet after a Bowie concert in New York. Reality tour. She was only 16ish back then and was determined to make a career out of singing. She was overweight and not espesh that good looking.......I wished her luck......last time I ever wished a Spurs fan that grew up in Upper Norwood......at least she likes Bowie.

I was in the players lounge for a QPR v manyoo match in 1986
Paul McGrath was at the bar and had to be pulled away by staff. He took shed-loads of drinks onto the team bus.

A very well known Tv actress bounced a cheque on me (several times)

Met Lemmy in Dingwalls, w***ered at bar -he was shouting 'nurse ! nurse!' at staff to try and get served.
(it is now standard procedure in bars)

have caddied for an open golf winner

my grandad soaked max bygraves at Fairfield halls, pulling the wrong rope backstage & opening the storm effects.

my dad has taken budgie byrne to hospital(and didn't know who he was)

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.
