Just why?

How to alienate all of your neighbours and passers by in one fell swoop.

What the heck is wrong with a rake? Works better, faster, quieter and a more relaxing experience.

Have you ever tried to rake leaves from a gravel or stone drive ?

Yes it is quieter, but a more relaxing experience ? When did you last hear of someone say that they want to rake leaves after a hard day at work ?
It can be faster, but a vacuum shreds the leaves ready for the compost heap.
I couldn't do without mine, but then I am in the country and surrounded by trees.

Can't stand the bloody things. They should be banned until someone can design a silent one.

Agreed very noisy but also very effective, efficient way of clearing in today's busy world,if used sensibly during Autumn.
What I really dislike are wood burners if used in highly populated residential areas, which are on the increase and are a potential health hazard for many people.

agree.
totally.
leaf blowing c unts.
many a ruined, what would be smashing summers day painting outside & tossers just blow leaves for hours.
had big rows with contract gardeners about to blow leaves over newly glossed windows.
total racket & din also.
a leaf blower should have a 5 minute cut off(& then it wont work for 5 days)

Forget Gold Talk this is diamond or platinum - sensational thread, best ever without question, those rural Victor Meldrew Palace fans coming out from under their stones - while I'm here any specific examples of misconceived topiary that exercise you? Not too much experience of leaf blowers but I have heard them and too much too close up must be pure hell. Why can't people put up with a few leaves, esp during Autumn when their colours are so gay? Tssk, tssk and tssk again, followed by a subdued sigh an oh dear and a goodness gracious or three.

I have to agree these things drive me mad, what is wrong with a few leaves on the ground?. they will rot away soon enough. Every time you expect a bit pf peace and quiet some tool fires one up.

Vibrators ought to be banned too. How is one expected to sleep with all that buzzing going on.
