You good folks of HOL always know useful people and things My daughter aspires to spend her life shovelling sh*t. As a part of that, she needs some work experience to get into agriculture college. Anyone got a farm and could tolerate an 18 year old for a couple of weeks, or know someone that would? She isn't too much of a liability, she knows her way around sheep a bit but needs to broaden her knowledge. Thanks

My 16 year old son has just finished High School and one of the colleges that he favoured was an agricultural one. I wasn't too keen partly as it was a 90 minute round trip drive which I would have to make twice a day so I took him for a look around on the coldest day in January and he soon lost interest. No work experience needed at Rodbaston College but as it's close to Telford it's obviously not suitable for you

Not sure if Godstone Farm (our local petting farm for children) could help with experience or a contacts list. Good luck.

Could the following help you out: Secretary of State for Sport, Tracey Crouch is also allegedly looking for someone to shovel out the sh*t at The FA

But for now better if we could find a local farm. Thanks to everyone for helpful comments.

I would contact your local young farmers association. Used to go along as a non-farmer when I was a kid, and they are pretty welcoming to interested folk

Get in quick Maple.... If we don't enforce Brexit soon, we will be building houses and all the incumbent infrastructure on our agricultural land just to cope with the demand and not have any farms... all food will be imported. I thought your daughter wanted to travel around Europe?

I thought your daughter wanted to travel around Europe? Well, they do have farms in other parts of Europe Hoof. Agriculture is a global business and the Brits are quite good at it. I suspect your point above may be a touch alarmist and doesn't sit well with other comments on the CAP.

What about the mini zoo/farm in Crystal Palace Park? They have lots of volunteers and do animals and plants. Might be worth looking at City farms, volunteer projects if you Sth London based

Theres also one in Vauxhall Thanks both. But Zoos don't count as agriculture. Needs to be commercial and effectively mass production. Pretty scary how much agriculture looks like a factory.
