Nope. It's good advice imo. I once got carded here for asking ''Is anyone surprised that the culprit was black?'' in relation to a stabbing incident. Considering that the majority of stabbings appear to be carried out by ''non-whites'' i felt that a card was a bit OTT. It's good advice.

If you're politically correct, yes.

Just a tad. Is it more racist than global warming?
I think some of it is racist but the problem is Nick, who are we to decide what the Chinese consider racist. Should we impose our beliefs on them? Is that not in itself racist/ colonial behaviour?

If your watching channel 5 now then it seems a pretty spot on statement to me.

Then the question should have been, 'Is this racist in China?' Someone, somewhere, will always find the time to be offended.

Is every black youngster going to rob you, no, are most street robberies committed by black youths, yes. Want to prevent your chance of either happening, don't go walking through a council estate with a load of black youths hanging about on a street corner also don't take sweets from a white middle aged man. Is this racist, who cares aslong as it decreases the chances of either happening.

I would imagine that the Bengali population around Brick Lane are delighted they will not be avoided. Better for business etc.
Most certainly not European. |

It is unquestionably racist - it is making generalisations based on race or ethnicity. Its degree of accuracy, as well as whether it is offensive, is more nuanced. The former would be determined by statistics, not whether a crime 'appears' to be carried out more often by a certain group, while the latter is a question that can only be answered by the ethnic group(s) targeted. Is it racist to say most white collar crime is carried out by white males? Well, it's factual. If it's accurate who cares who is offended.....Mind you I'm not sure the advice is fair anyway, especially to Asians. Anyway the advice is poorly worded. There is no real need to mention communities specifically and instead the advice works for any poorer inter city area. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Sep 2016 3.31am)
