Hi All, Looking at these Android box's on Amazon that come with Kodi. Don't know much about it. I literally just want to get football for free, so worth the £30 quid or so on the box. Is it possible to get prem football via this Kodi app? Is it easy? Especially for someone who doesn't have a clue? Thanks

We have one that my wife's brother's mate got set up for us so it came with a whole host of apps already on it for movies, sport etc. I personally don't find it very reliable and despite using a lot of the same apps that folks on here recommend, I usually end up giving up on trying to stream football from it. I've got to Half Time trying to get a working stream before! In theory though, if it works better than ours does, it SHOULD be able to stream Premier League football, it does indeed have that functionality.

A lot of the streams get closed down by the TV companies that own the rights which is probably why you are having trouble. I go on you tube once a week (or when they stop working) and just type in "update, and then the name of add on your using for example: "Sports devil update kodi" type it you tube an dthere are loads of instructional vidoes of how to use the latest kodi add on. I had a perfect picture for the Spuds game, but I do find using my lap top, with the Kodi app downloaded is better, I just use an HDMI cable to my TV.

as Dannyh has said, no need to bother with a box if you have a laptop/pc with an hdmi, just download the software onto that and run it from there. That said, I have similar issues with the quality. the threads are there ok but they can be very glitchy and it can take ages to get the right one.

A problem we often encounter is to do with our ISP, when we boot it up it thinks it's 01/10/1970 which is usually a default date in a lot of software. While it still thinks that is the date we can't get a lot of stuff to play. My mrs has to de-couple it from the WIFI then reconnect and that often fixes it. I don't have the patience for that 2 minute job. I usually just go "let's just put Netflix on and stop pissing about this this piece of junk".

It is only £30 quid so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.. but do I just avoid getting one all together if it's going to be useless lol. I can't seem to find any sort of concrete "this is what you do to get sky sports" comments anywhere lol! I just want to watch the footy without filling my laptop with trojans haha.

have a look at the other Kodi post here all will be explained, the only TV I watch is Kodi, it's really the dog's. Had a look at a minix box the other day very tasty for Kodi, but don't be afraid to uninstall the version that comes with a box and put on the latest version. I am running 2 Mac's 2 PC's and an ipad with Kodi on all work extremely well, just keep your software up to date or put on the automatic updaters of which there are many Spinz TV is a good place to start.
