A lot of you know the problems I have daily - generally due to my poor health... I suffer from Parkinsons, Arthritic Joints and Dupeytren's Contracture of my hands (look it up... nasty). Well... the upshot is that I will have to seriously reduce my time on here to become an occasional visitor/commentator like DanH..... expect some quality one liners like "Bender". Hurrah (TFFT) I hear from many posters, but seriously, it is difficult for me to type coherently and whilst I'm sat at my desk typing on my keyboard my leg shakes uncontrollably and I can only stand that for about 10 minutes at a time tops. I've got myself a tablet, so I can now sit comfortably on the settee and read the latest goings on. However it doesn't seem as easy as typing on a proper keyboard even though I type with 1 finger and very slowly! So I don't expect to be making many posts from now on, if at all. I also think that it's time I gave up all this political shenanigans and opt for a stress free existence walking my dog, catching up with books I wanted to read, watch films and box sets on the Firestick, watch Le Tour, Wimbledon and Olympics. I'm 62 so not really that old, but I need to do a bit more exercise than I do and await a visit from a specialist physio who will recommend specific routines to help my Parkinson's condition. Anyone that wants to keep in touch, send me a PM with your email address on - I have got quite a few contacts/proper friends from my time on the Hol. You know who you are guys. I know I've made a few of you laugh, and I also know I've annoyed/frustrated quite a lot of you too since I first arrived in May 2004 as chollis, then Uncle Focker and finally Hoof.... I have been a cantankerous focker By the way this is not a late bid for "Most Spectacular Flounce" on the 2016 Awards.... BTW jamie when will the results be published? I had a vote as "Poster of the Year" for the first time ever! Cheerio... or more accurately.... Laters Hoof PS - I'm sure the meter below sums up most of your reaction to this "news".....LOL Attachment: Give a fcuk-ometer.gif (22.02Kb)

I can barely understand the extent of your health problems and have great admiration for what appears to be a highly stoic attitude. I shall look forward to your occasional interjections (ooh matron) and wish you well. And I hope, in a few years time, not to be saying 'I told you so'.

My dear 'Hoof Hearted' Life must be so very difficult for you on account of your medical conditions and my heart goes out to you. I have really enjoyed your contributions on HOL - you have most certainly added real value to the various debates and discussions. Perhaps we have had disagreements (I cannot remember !) but I cannot recall any rancour or vituperation and IF we have had polarised opinions I am sure we have expressed these in mature fashion free from any personal slurs. If I have offended you in any way, I sincerely apologise and can assure you that NO offence was intended. I look forward to your further contributions albeit that they will not be with the same regularity. Kind regards to you and take care.My thoughts are with you. WILLO

Hoof Microsoft includes "windows speech recognition" software, which allows you to dictate text into almost every windows application. Whilst it can be tricky to get used to and 'train', it would reduce the need to type, meaning you could reduce typing to cut and pasting and clinking things like post etc. I've never used it myself, although I have used the rather excellent Dragon dictate (which costs). We used to roll this application out into the civil service for employees who were either partially sited or physical impaired. Testing it was great fun, as you could almost rant into it, and it would dictate the text, once set up. You might even find you can get it for free from your local authority under the disability legislation (due to you human rights).
I know people who simply use these because they're crap at typing.

Which is my way of saying, please don't go. You'll probably find that there is already dictation software on your tablet. As Becky says, its a bit annoying to set up, but once its in place its fantastic.

Seriously, take the advice of the speech recognition software. If you're put off by setting it up, contact a local computer shop and ask how much to have them set it up. A lot of them do this sort of thing. Will save you a lot of time and stress and it'll be a good investment in a way. In fact local councils provide tradesmen etc at a fraction of the cost for retired/pensioners. Having a tap fitted, bit of wiring, that sort of thing. I bet they have retired IT or retired who know their IT who might offer this sort of service. All the best. Edited by Rudi Hedman (07 Jul 2016 10.15am)

See, told you. The whole LEAVE thing is a contagion Yes Voice Activated Software Hoof. And you could get to sound like Hawking. Failing that hire a sexy bespectacled, fishnet tights-wearing P.A. to do your tap-tapping. Do you have Cucking's phone number?

My last post for a while..... "I sat at my desk this morning typing into my computer - all of a sudden my stomach rumbled and I let out an enormous FART. At once, my voice recognition software sparked into action and started printing off Jeremy Corbyn's/Labour manifesto........." So you see, I am aware of voice recognition software.
That was just a last childish dig in Gusset's direction.... LOL

If you can't get set it up yourself, or get the council to do it. Let me know, and I'll do it for you - My wife is pretty good at these things, and she's South African, so her Liberal is my conservative (of course if every time you say muslim, it comes up with I love Allah and bumboys, that's just a 'bug').
