Well done Nigel Farage. Over 25 years of campaigning for UK Independence - achieved today. I'm looking forward to George Osborne's emergency budget next tuesday (if he's still Chancellor). Nice odds of 10/1 from Betfair for the leave win = £500 profit. Invested the majority of my investments and pension funds in Blackrock Gold & General Fund a little while back and its up 10%, with the rest in cash ready to plunge back into equities over the next few days when the price has bottomed out. Thank you to David Cameron for setting this all up!

Cant tell you how happy I am Hoof - stayed up most of the night watching this and could not believe what I was hearing. We have dared to dream and it feels amazing. We have an incredible opportunity to make Britain great again. Could not believe what I was hearing from the IN supporting MPs interviewed during the night all giving their reasons why the OUT vote was doing so well and all coming up with everything other than the real reasons. None of them would face up to the real reasons and this is why they lost. The sun has come up this morning - the world will carry on - markets will Stabilize and in the long term this truly will be fantastic!

It is people like you, and comments like this, that make me ashamed of my fellow citizens this morning. I predict that in a few months no-one will be admitting to having voted out. Having a referendum always looked a bad idea during a period of economic uncertainty and so it has proved, with disastrous consequences for all of us, but especially our children. Farage is a prat, whose opinions are suitable only for the bar room. Now we need some proper politicians to rescue us from our own stupidity. I am 72 and this is the blackest day of my life. My parents faced a war. This is my worst feeling. There will be an election and providing the Labour party replace Corbyn I will now vote for them. I will never vote for a right wing Conservative party, or worse, UKIP. I want right wing views eradicated from the UK. That now is the target. We have seen a triumph of xenophobia, selfishness, hate and nostalgia over reason and reality. It needs to stop here.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

It'll be interesting to see how this affects UKIP going forwards, given the UK has now decided to depart the EU. Whilst they have other policies, a very strong basis of its support has been founded in opposition to the EU. But I think this is going to be true of all main parties and the two party state of Britain, with manifestos of how to leave the EU will be more important at the next election than at any other time. I think Corbyn may well go, but a large support of the Leave vote came from very strong traditional labour areas.
