My contract with Sky is coming to a end soon for Broadband, TV, Sky sports and free line rental. We get that for £33 a month and would ideally like to get it lower (to at least £26/£27). Has anyone got a good deal so I can say to them its possible to lower it for me or if anyone has any ideas of how I can get it lower it would be much appreciated....

I pay £20 a month just for TV and broadband. Got a youview box for TV that I can record on and a laptop with Kodi on it for sport/films. You getting all that for £33 a month seems really cheap already? Edited by miles18 (28 May 2016 11.40am)

I got an email from sky telling me my monthly payments will be £104 as my free 12 month broadband had finished. Threatened to leave them and go to virgin and finally got the bill down to £81. That is for all channels, HD, Broadband, line rental and free calls! Just threaten them you'll leave if they can't get the price down!

I threatened to leave and they basically called my bluff as virgin sold the cables which run down our street which means its sky or bt only. I now have by infinity which is £29.99 a month and brought a kodi box for £40 which streams all the sports (get all the 3pm games which are not shown here) movies etc . It can be a bit of a faff sometimes when you just want to watch the news or a normal tv programme so I have kept my old sky box and I use it as a free view box essentially and put the Jodi box on when there's something particular I want to watch. Saves a lot of money
When I was a young girl my Mother said to me.. You listen here kid you're CPFC |

We pay around £55 and are quite happy tbh.
Time to move forward together. |

Sorry if it's mentioned elsewhere and going off topic but how does a kodi box work? Do you need to have sky or bt or something to use it? How good is the quality when streaming the 3pm games?? Cheers.

Agree. I have Virgin basic TV package but max Broadband (200mgs) Use Amazon Firestick (with Kodi app) for free sport including Skysports, BT Sports, NBC, Fox Etc and latest films (watched Star Wars VII for free) and Box Sets (currently catching up on Game of Thrones for free). Only costs £35 and is easy to upgrade to Kodi (aka The Beast). No need to pay a king's ransom to Sky/Virgin for their TV/Sports/Film packages.

Cheers. See my post above but to answer directly.... You buy an Amazon Firestick for £35. You upgrade this by installing the Kodi/Beast app. Plenty of information on youtube about how to do this or PM Mr Apollo.... who is a genius if you are having problems. You'll need a good Broadband provider like Virgin who can guarantee 200mgs connection. Watching Palace live at 3pm on a saturday is brilliant. I have the occasional buffering, but it costs nowt, so put up with it. Watching everything else, the quality is good and easy to access. Normal TV is DEAD.

Thanks for all that, definitely getting onto it!
