I had a high brow discussion at work this morning about what is worse - diarrhoea or constipation. Whilst I have had some pretty horrific doses of bum gravy, including a particularly unpleasant episode in Mumbai last year, I still think constipation is worse because it is very frustrating and takes ages to go. At least with diarrhoea things move, albeit not in the manner one wishes it too. What are your thoughts?

Matt... I am even more knowledgeable about this subject than jamiemartin! I have Parkinson's as you know, and also suffer from Arthritis and Diabetes. As you can imagine I take a lot of medication which means I am constipated one day and spouting arse gravy the next as the side effects of each medicine battle with each other for supremacy. I concur with you 100%. Constipation is very frustrating and I have sat for literally hours trying to shift a log. Diarrhoea in its worst form is not in the same ball park as constipation. Taking strong pain killers (like Tramadol) can gum my bowels up for days. I've not got much to look forward to these days, but a nice relaxing normal sh1t without any dramas is one of them.

Many years ago I worked with a constipated accountant. In the end he worked it out with a pencil.

Maybe I should ask whoever was pebble-dashing the trap next to me earlier... I suppose the squits just about win the argument, provided you're within sprinting distance of a decent karzey

On the whole, I prefer constipation, because I have a large stash of Laxido left over from when I had a bowel infection (which is not as nice as it sounds), and because when I get backed up, I become anxious, and this manifests as knowing I have cancer. As a consequence, constipation is easily dealt with. That said, in more general terms, when ever I get proper backed up, I become convinced I have cancer, yet when I have the arsepocolypse, I never have the existential concerns of it being a symptom of impending chemo-death. The reason for the cancer thing, is because just about everyone in my immediate family dies of cancer (so far in my parents generation its 2 for 3 on my mothers side, and 4 for 5 on my father side).

That question rates about the same as who is worse from Bono or Sting - both are just as bad as each other in their own way. In respect of constipation, my mother's great tip for a simple cure....... drink a tumbler (mixer size) of very hot water (as hot as you can bear to swallow it) first thing in the morning before you have anything else. Relief usually comes in between 20 minutes and an hour.

I was just trying to think of what is the point of Bono and Sting and then I realised that they both could be used as acceptable sobriquets for ones John Thomas. Much better than Bob Geldof. Cucking's already bagsied Midge.

Having the s***s has got to be worse. There IS nothing worse than being out with no toilet near and being about 5 seconds away from crapping yourself. With regard to sting does he have a tantric dump?
