Interview this morning with Jim Naughty of BBC R4 Today programme.... starts at 2hrs 31mins. She tells it like it is....... very refreshing! Video of interview on Newsnight last December. Get's a grilling from Evan Davis.... typical lefty approach to concentrate on PC speech once again.

C**t on C**t action.... The biggest problem with the likes of Coulter and Trump is that they're proponents of the idea that hyperbole and sophistry makes something right or somehow true. That they're somehow 'telling it like it is', but in fact they utilise extreme reductionism to construct an generalisation that fits their view and agenda, rather than basing an argument on facts (all politicians are guilty of this to some degree, and US politics thrives on this). This allows the presentation of a deception as fact, because it is designed to appeal, rather than to inform reasoned debate. Its been the lowest form of argument since Socrates, a variation on shouting down your opponent and then singing la-dee-da I can't hear you when you speak. They have nothing to contribute, because they add nothing of reasoned value. Its simply an exercise in trying to manufacture consent, typically based on peoples fears. Trump is the kind of Patriot who'd build a wall with Mexico, ship all his factory production overseas and then blame those who lost their jobs for being poor. The US presidential elections are a joke, every candidate has become a PR grafted stereotype of their own political party. And none of them offer real change, just the illusion of participation in a democratic contest.

No, although I quite enjoy Trump as a politician, in the same way I quite enjoyed what Farage did, without actually being a fan. I recently went through a bit of a republican revision, after some comments made by Goodman, in Alpha House (TV Series) in which he laments the demise of the Republican party that stood for real things, that was fiscally responsible and stood for real ideals, defining themselves by what they believed in, rather than objected to. Its kind of weird that the Republicans funded the US Space Program, engaged in massive engineering projects, educational projects and voted for Medicare and supported all manner of reforms and restructuring. Its a great TV series about Republican senators who share a house. A kind of Man about the West Wing.
