Go f*** yourself. You have as much right to give your views to the British public on Brexit as I have for my thoughts on Donald Trump. Sod of back to the US and interfere ( again ) with some other country.

Sod of back to the US and interfere ( again ) with some other country. He's not interfering. He's giving his opinion, as is his right. You don't have to be British to have an opinion and for that matter, you don't have to listen to Obama if you don't want to. If you go to America, you'll be welcome to give your opinion (as Thatcher repeatedly did in a most public way for and on behalf of Reagan's policies.) Whether or not I agree with Obama is beside the point; I can't see what the fuss is about.

Could you envisage the US teaming up with Mexico and all the middle Americas expanding the United States? Then removing the Mexican border in an immigration free for all? Like f***....

Thatcher certainly tried to interfere when the US invaded Grenada. She was not a happy bunny. He's here as our guest. He's being asked questions which, in his opinion, the answers to, do affect the US. He is also trying to to shed some reality on the whole shebang re:trade deals and the time they take to do. In short, he is probably doing us a favour.

Except his version is totally contrary to that of the US equivalent of the Board of Trade..who have already said they would have no problem with a Trade deal with a solo UK and it wouldn't take that long to put in place when dealing with a single country...

Yup, he's certainly doing Brexit a favour - I doubt many will take kindly to him jetting in and insisting we subject ourselves to something he'd never submit the US to.

Is this a dissection of what he said or is that just what the thread's become? Because the OP was complaining just that he said it. Or are we agreed that everyone has a right to air their opinion, be they English or foreign, manifestly stupid or entirely sensible? It is somewhat useful knowing the views of the White House (albeit from a President who won't be in office for much longer), if only because it adds to everyone's ability to make an informed decision (which for some will be influence pro-Obama and for others anti.)

Interesting that Obama says that it would be hard for the UK to get a trade agreement with America when they have agreed trade deals with many countries smaller than the UK. Demob happy prat.

One imagines it would involve your eyes swivelling and considerable frothing at the mouth, like a punch drunk but aged terrier.

Obama's comments are a joke and clearly he's trying to do Cameron a favour for the Remain camp. He has every right to say what he wants, and gullible people will take/heed his warnings. Boris and the rest of us also have a right to reply and point out that he is a blatant hypocrite and obvious scaremonger. This debate gets dirtier by the day.
