It would a be a nice gesture for everyone to undertake a minutes Applause between the 21St and 22nd minute as this supporters life was tragically and needlessly taken away. GT

Is there symbolism in the 21? Why would this be the year to do something? What happened just makes me seethe, and the way the Mancs just shrugged it off even more so. C*ntona can never be forgiven for creating the atmosphere that contributed to this happening.

I'm sure you didn't mean any offence, but my view is anything like this would have to come from Nixon's family. Yes he was a Palace fan, and what happened to him was appalling, but it's for them to ask for any memorial or gesture like you suggest. As for why your post was removed from the BBS, it's nothing to do with democracy (although why you're asking us I don't know - perhaps asking the BBS mods might be a better idea). Websites and messageboards like the BBS and HOL are run by individuals who have the right to remove any post they deem inappropriate for whatever reason. It's all there in the small print when you choose to sign up. Hardly East Germany under the Stasi is it?

I was at the first semi final and,like most Palace fans,boycotted the replay because the f.a.refused to reschedule it as a mark of respect for Paul. But can we please stop this minutes "applause" thing that has suddenly become omnipresent at every game.It just demeans the whole idea of respect.

With respect, it needs to be respectfully laid to rest. We don't need it to remind people of a rivalry. If you really want to honour him, get in touch with his family, find a charity of their choice and donate, behind closed doors. Otherwise - people will use it as a band wagon for a rivalry.
