Few of the boys going away to Barca for the weekend, only got flights booked at the moment.

Can anybody tell me a central place we'd like to be located? Like to be close to a strip of restaurants, bars, clubs etc with shops and the main centre near by.

Anybody recommend any hotels close by? 4 of us going if that makes any difference.

TIA COYP

Las Rambles is the 'strip,' it's a wide road that is central and everything is there but it is very touristy very busy and everything costs a bit more because of it.

Barca has a really good cheap transport system and you get a lot more for your money if you stay a little way out. We stayed a 7 min metro tide from centre and got a 4 star hotel for price of a 2 star Central one.

A bit further out food is better and much cheaper. We drank in Brewdog Barca just round corner of hotel.

GO TO BOTTOM OF Las Ramblas, cross over onto wharf, buy a bucket of beer, 5 bottles for 4 Euros and relax and keep the buckets coming.

Barceloneta, Raval, Gracia, Barri Gotic.

All interesting little inner 'burbs and very close to the social side. The first one is on the beach too.

Best places are down the little side streets. Not easy to find some of them but worth it.

There is a great club in Ravel - an old theatre/ballroom - but forgotten the name now.

I don't need to tell you how much I love Barna

I wont even begin to recommend places to stay as I lived outside the city and used a motorbike to go back and forth to Sabadell.
Clubs and bars so many to choose but beware some are crazy bucks to get in I used to go the Irish pubs for watching Palace games and also here for simplicity

Thanks everybody, managed to book our own apartment for two nights in Las Ramblas for only 80 euro each so bit of a touch really!

It's a horrible place where you will get mugged, robbed, beaten up by pimps, get food poisoning from under cooked meat and every bandy legged waiter will try and rip you off.

I don't know people think Barcelona is such a cool place. It's a pit filled with the scum of the earth.
