If you are a parent, a school pupil or a member of the teaching profession etc, there are countless reasons why we must never forget the heroism of Dunblane Primary School and community on that devastating day on 13th March when evil personified slaughtered 16 x innocent 5yr olds and their beloved teacher.

As a teaching professional, I still struggle (and perhaps should count myself as fortunate in this instance) to comprehend the enormity of what the head teacher and police had to confront on that fateful day.

I have just finished viewing the recently broadcasted BBC documentary (that I have had to watch in segments) and the numbness of such a needless atrocity rankles with me still.

One fine question - how truly safe is School Security and risk assessment these days? Education has become so politicised nowadays that I seriously question whether the very basics are beginning EARNESTLY & STRENUOUSLY attended to.

Apologies - predictive text! Make that 'one FINAL question'

The most dangerous thing is schools now is the kids, secondary that is.

The ones we worked on under the BSF scheme have metal detectors that the kids have to go through.

As far as adults getting into schools, that shouldn't be there, is quite secure now. Everything is entry systems, auto locking doors, access passes etc.

Optimistic as ever
