Television.
What did you expect. Never mind.
55-65 inch screens seem to be about standard now. There must be some point where the average living room can't cope I suppose, or would any of you save up for a real whopper when they come within range?
Do you think it will carry on or will the telly in the corner be replaced by a pull down screen?

42" is more than enough for any man.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

42".

Ignoring the s***e that is 3d TV.

Before I buy my next TV, the programme "broadcasting" (and old word but the best I can think of) either needs to improve or online content become more than films and boxsets, plus better real-time streaming albeit I acknowledge improvements.

I have two 50" LG's and they are great. Not sure what to do when one conks out. A 60" 1080p perhaps or maybe a 4K but the big ones of those are too expensive for me.
Sticking with HD might be the way to go for a few more years.

Do people still have TVs as a focal point in their living rooms?

70" 1080 HD job.
Only got this big as the living room is very large and copes with it easily , so you are not sitting too close, otherwise be pointless.
footy's great, films are amazing with a soundbar.
A lot of older films are like watching from new again due to the detail.
don't really watch much regular tv.

32" - I suddenly feel inadequate!

Incidentally, those curved TVs - what a crock of sh1te! The perfect way to guarantee you get reflections no matter which angle you watch from.

Now there's the biggest modern con of all - just get a tv with an optical output socket, buy a cheap lead and run it through your stereo system. We get the most amazing sound that way!
