I am 100% serious about this suggestion.

He's the ideal 'plug-in-and-play' for us, a ready-made centre-forward to compliment our pattern of play.

No settling in period required, or time to recover from injury or get match-fit like so many forwards we are linked with.

Okay, it's unusual for someone to return so soon after a transfer, but there are no rules against it.

He is on the bench at Bournemouth and they are linked with all sorts of strikers so may let him go.

probably the best option of all the names in the hat but will never happen, sadly. I mean, who is stupid enough to buy a player and loan him back, and who is stupid enough to sell a player and loan him back. Certainly doesn't sound like us.

Should never have sold him in the first place.

Moot point.

I agree, but Glenn was on a single year contract with us and he was offered three years at Bournemouth. It had to be a no brainer for him as there's absolutely no guarantee he would have got another extension at Palace.

United loaned Wilf back to us immediatley after we sold him..

Agreed though, would love for it to happen but it wont.FFS

I want to see in the last hour of transfer deadline day, a reporter speaking to AP who is in his car hanging out of the window (like Redknapp) and AP saying what a good bit of business that was getting Gareth Bale :-)

Probably the worst suggestion I've heard in a long time. Other than going backwards rarely being the best way to go forward why would we sign a player we considered not good enough twelve weeks ago? And we were right, too. We got a very good sum for a great player rapidly reaching his sell-by date (something we realised and Bournemouth didn't.) He hasn't exactly set Bournemouth alight (and he was plain awful when we played them.) I love Glenn but the wonderful memories are best left where they are; in the memory bank.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Would love it , even if we spent a right few quid on a striker, he'd be great to bring on. But I can't see it happening.
Would be a good stop gap for 6 months if we can't get who we want until the summer, if not Murray then Crouch on loan. Neither would upset the dressing room ( unlike that c**t adabayor), neither have lost pace , as they haven't had any , both are on the bench ( so presumed fit ), we'd pay no fee and only a percentage of their wages.
Also with Crouch there's the added benefit of his missus.
