Ramadan this year starts on Monday 6th June...... surely exams are all over with by then anyway?

The suggestion in addition is that they're sat earlier in the day when the kids aren't hungry. What do they do during the regular school term though? People oppose faith schools but are still happy to see things like this force everyone else to adjust. It's a difficult one because making allowances for such beliefs can help integration and exacerbate segregation in equal measures. The 'When in Rome' ethos may seem simplistic but it's generally applied everywhere else, except perhaps in the cases where allowances are made for Brits abroad to get boozed.

They should be brought forward. Not because of Ramadan, because its crazy unfair to set exams during the first major spell of hayfever season (which also affects a lot of asthma sufferers). When I took several my GCSE's my eyes were streaming, I was sneezing and coughing. Couldn't take the meds because they made me tired and sleepy.

I am getting married in July. I was going to invite some Muslims but I might not now, they'll be Hank Marvin by then and probably gobble up all of our buffet. Cheers for the heads up.

I think they should move Ramadan if they're concerned about their own performance. I've heard of footballers and other sportsmen moving it when it coincides with an event or tournament. After all there is no actual good reason for doing it, nor is there a good one for the time of year it's done or why it shifts by 11 days a year. Even the dawn to dusk thing is stupid as you'd be completely f***ed in the extreme north where there's the midnight sun.
