Got a credit card this morning, called into activate it, then proceeded to get bombarded by an assault of information on the 'benefits' of opting into the (R)epayment (O)ption (P)lan, ROP, the call agent rattled away like a machine gun, once I realised where he was going, when he paused for breath after reading the first section of 'benefits' I said I did not wish to add extra cost to my account and would not be needing this service. He then launched into section 2 (of 4) about these benefits, I thought aww fluck it and just let him carry on went and made a cup of tea, came back and said no thanks - I don't want it Could hear the frustration in voice (obvs on commission.) Works out £1.29 per £100 borrowed- rolling, so £1000 would cost £10.29 + the interest, Flucking sting! The new PPI? Potentially more expensive! Financial firms are always looking to engineer new ways of making money from you , even if the 'product' sounds familiar .

The 'new PPI' in respect of compensation for mis-selling is packaged bank accounts which is about to kick off bigtime. Madness that you can claim for taking a bank account with additional product like breakdown cover included, which you may have had separately. Would I be able to claim from the AA if I was already with the RAC? If what you're saying is a new thing though the banks must be even more stupid and greedy than the public.
