On the day when Teresa May (rightly) questions the lack of 'ethnic' police officers (for whatever reasons that may be)I came across what is for me an absolute gem from one of its most senior 'ethnic' officers.. Ch Supt Babu - who is of Indian heritage and helped found the National Association of Muslim Police - said there was a "business case" as well as "moral" reasons for raising numbers, particularly in specialist units. He said: "It's about having that cultural understanding when you're planning the firearms operation - do you understand the cultural aspects that might be misinterpreted as being aggression within a particular community? "Do you understand when communities are praying on a particular day?" adding that having more officers from different backgrounds would also help cut translation costs. "But ultimately it's the right thing to do," he said. "We need to make sure that people who join feel confident that they can join different parts of the organisation." Do you understand when communities are praying on a particular day ?? Really - the police should plan their operations around the religious sensitivities of god botherers ????

The Police : The official organization that is responsible for protecting people and property, making people obey the law, finding out about and solving crime, and catching people who have committed a crime. They are not fluffy fat lesbians from north London who think social services are too right wing. Edited by dannyh (22 Oct 2015 1.34pm)

How many "ethnic" police officers should we have in Britain when the population is around 85% white and a large proportion of the non whites living in the big cities. There is an argument for more officers of a certain nationality where a community of that nationality live but pandering to religion is totally unacceptable I'm afraid.

Although I am highly suspicious of the motives anyway it speaks volumes on how the police want to seem to be perceived in the immediate wake of the murders in Tunisia. Tunisian police raided 40 mosques, recovered a large amount of weaponry and arrested suspected terrorists and their enablers who were on their 'watch' lists. British Police took Anjem Choudry and his brood to a secret safe location and gave him protection without any specific threat to him or his person. Riggght Onnnn.

Economics. Tunisia needs to appear safe for tourists. Definitely in Tunisias case a yes...in the case of Chaudry and Britain - nahhh, agree that our 1% love an immigrant to help their driving down wages and working conditions...Choudry-he's a shill hiding in the light for the British intelligence services..convinced of it
