I am posting this here rather than on Palace Talk or Ticket Talk despite it being about Palace tickets. Mainly because it's a fairly boring story. Me and three of my mates decided we'd go to the Newcastle game (we're the kind of die hard supporters that go to at least two games a season, you know, proper hardcore) but one of my mates couldn't be sure he'd get time off work so we only booked three seats in the AW next to each other. Nearly a week after we booked, the other mate realised he could make the game. I went on the ticket website and everything was pretty much sold out, other than the odd seat here and there. Imagine how amazed I was that one of only about 10 seats left in Block U was right next to our row of three. Happy days, bring on the Geordies.

Nice story, this got me wondering, did you pay for the tickets up front, with your mates paying you back? How about your mate that joined at the last minute, did he pay for his directly? I love a boring ticket story. I'll share a couple. I've got a season ticket. Every time I go to a home game I see the same faces around me. I know. Mad. Better still, I parked where I shouldn't have once. When I came back I had a parking ticket on my windscreen. After a day or two I paid it. Never heard about it again from that day to this. Fact is often stranger than fiction.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

I fully expect Willo to participate eagerly in this thread...along the lines of... "I was given a ticket to the 1923 Association Football Cup Final at the newly constructed national football stadium at Wembley Park, Wembley, North London, England. I travelled by a London Omnibus to Morden Underground Station whereupon I sat in a carriage on the Northern Line and changed on two separate occasions before alighting at my final destination - Wembley Park. The cost of my fare was sixpence return. On the way home I purchased a fish supper (incidentally wrapped in the day before's Times newspaper, which I still have today) and a bottle of ginger beer which I eagerly quaffed before retiring to my bed!" I used to park in the Sainsbury's car park but it was a nightmare to find a space and getting out was a pain. I now park in one of the roads around the ground.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

I paid for all four tickets. Owain and Steve will be paying me back before my credit card bill arrives. I will charge Steve £2 less than Owain as he gave me a lift home the other day. Joe, the supplementary friend, will pay me even if it subsequently transpires that his employer decides he does have to work. If this happens I'll try to flog the ticket. Happy to field further questions.
