Pardew made it clear it was up to the player and he wanted him to stay. The club accepted a good offer, and Murray chose to leave: I don't blame him as it sounds like he was offered more money and a longer contract.

Pardew was not to know that we would be without our other two main target men for most of the first 3 months of the season.

Whoever let Muzza go or flogged him should of made sure of before we sell, or have sold any player from this club, is we have a COMPETENT replacement. That means we have a better player here already, or one coming in who is better and can replace the departing player. I don't think it happened in the case of when Muzza left, anyway he's gone and he ain't coming back.
