After months of will he / won't he Froch confirms he's to retire, short of Calzaghe getting his gloves back on again doubt he'll go back on the decision

That's very unfortunate as now we have to listen to him talk endlessly about himself in the third person. Sky sports boxing punditry has just taken a sharp decline.

Nottm Forest supporter ! I went to a game at the 'City Ground' a few years ago when he was present and introduced to the crowd.

How many people were there when he fought at "Wemberley"?

So no return with the bloke who can beat him. Namely Andre Ward. Frotch can say what he likes but if he wanted to be remembered as a great champion he needed to avenge that defeat. Ward is now active again and Frotch retires. Say no more.

Would have liked to see him brawl with GGG, but oh well. Had a good career.

He was involved in some great tear ups. If his heart's no longer in it I don't blame him for hanging up his gloves.

Right decision. Only really attractive fight from a commercial point of view was triple G and even Froch himself admitted he is a dangerous opponent.... Retiring after knocking Groves virtually sparko with one of the best right hands I've seen in front of 80,000 at Wembley is the right way to go out.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Exactly this. He had nothing else to prove and there was nothing he could've done in another one or two fights that would've transformed how he was viewed. He went out on top.
