With the help of a friend I have recently been investigating my family history. It is very complicated, what with adoptions, many divorces and remarriages, siblings, half siblings and step siblings. I have been looking for a family tree programme for the computer to put it all on but there are so many I was wondering if the wonderful folk on here have ever used one and, if so, what would they recommend. It seems that most of the 'free' ones are'nt really free so I don't mind paying £20/£30 for a good one. At least it makes a change from waiting for even more bizarre transfer rumours to reach Ross McCormack levels!!!

Hi Old time eagle, I have used [Link] You have to pay a fee for full features but it has a family tree creator which is free to use and is quite easy to find family members. Using this site I have gone back nearly 400 years. I could have gone further but got really tedious. Darren Edited by Daz.CPFC (07 Jul 2015 8.50am)

I thought this was a thread about Palace fan Jim Piddock's own TV series which deserved greater plaudits than it received!

Ancestry.co.uk is the one I use. The tree itself is the easiest to use IMO

Totally off track but for anyone who likes a bit of Armstrong & Miller they did a great 'Who do you think you are..' spoof where Alexander Armstrong had them research his nan who turned out to be a penniless whore, embarrassed he shifted to his grandfather who turned out to be a notorious kiddie fiddler...

Best I've turned up so far is a GGG aunt sentenced to death at the Old Bailey -for involvement in a mugging - later changed to transportation to Australia. Those were the days!
