Right lads... the Aussies have arrived and are playing a few warm up games before the first test at Cardiff on July 8th, less than 2 weeks away.

Nice to hear from those downunder as well as us home grown diehard optimists as to what the outcome might be?

I think we will lose the series, but put up a decent fight.

I think we can match the Aussies for bowling, but our batting and fielding still needs to improve greatly. Also Michael Clark is a better captain than Cooky.

Hope I'm wrong, but will enjoy the spectacle every day on Sky Sports wonderful coverage... looking forward to the banter too.

The Aussies could field a bowling attack consisting only of Mitch's with Starc, Johnson and Marsh in the side.

Seriously though I think that Starc will be their danger man and with a bit of luck he will trip over a rugby ball whilst warming up and will be out for a couple of games just like Glen McGrath was in 2005

Can't see Lyth, Ballance and a woefully out of nick Bell making runs against their attack and that's where I think we'll lose this series. Our batting simply isn't as strong as theirs. Have faith in Jimmy et al to turn on the goods, but not enough.

Also, we should absolutely play Rashid either instead of Ali or as well as him with one of Ballance and Bell dropped. Ali is not a front line spinner and never will be.

Ballance has a first class average of 14.67 this season with a high score of 29 from the three innings that he has played so far this season which is ominous

Hi Aussie mate....

Lets just say that our performances against NZ gives us cause for a little optimism, but would not go overboard.

As has been said, our top order batsmen are still out of nick, but if a couple of them find form we might be in with a chance.

Just hope it's an exciting contest.

None of the Aussies have won a tour in England. So i'm going with 3-2 to England.

Yeah they've been pumping those recent wins up over here, so not s bad time to find some form.

I honestly think it will be quite a good contest.

One of the greatest sporting contests of all time. The nation was entranced by it - yes, entranced by cricket!!
The game hadn't had that sort of impact for so many years.

And then what did the ECB do? Flog the TV rights to Sky thereby demoting its status as a national sport and destroying all the gains of that summer.

Well the top order are still looking pretty bad, but we're going along alright.
