Another fine performance from the top order today! Lyth 7 Root and Stokes have had to dig them out, yet again, but both have now fallen in the 90s.

Buttler went last ball of the day. 364-7 is a bloody good middle order recovery.

Terrific fightback after being 30-4 after the first hour.

350-6 was brilliant from 30-4. Credit to Root, Stokes, Buttler and Moeen Ali. 364-7 is frustrating given it was the last ball but still England's dsy.

NZ's day so far. Openers looking solid.
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. |

NZ's day so far. Openers looking solid. Old 7 toes Guptill was caught off a Wood no-ball. Not your finest moment to have on debut! And Bell dropped the other opener at 3rd slip. Edited by Stuk (22 May 2015 2.06pm)

The man who took all the slip catches against the Windies, and a spectacular one or two, isn't playing in this test. Edited by Stuk (22 May 2015 2.56pm)

Mo has just trapped Latham lbw. Relying on the spinner for our first wicket after their seamers made our top order look like school boys. I feared the worst before the series.

It truly was a breakthrough as Broad send Guptill packing two balls later. Caught by Ballance at cover.

We need to stay in all day with a lead of 350-400, Root goes we're f***ed.
