Or rather travellers So the court obviously considers travellers to be a separate race. Strange as I thought they were English, Irish, Romanian etc But it's now set a precedent This judgment will shake to the core all those who engage in racist conduct towards Irish Travellers and Romani Gypsies "Shops, restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, clubs and pubs will now realise that treating Gypsies and Travellers as second-class citizens is an affront to their dignity that is no longer tolerated. "Discriminators will pay in damages, costs and loss of reputation."
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |

They always moan that they are discriminated against, but do they wonder why (because they're scum) Some years ago a pub in West Croydon (The Fox) hired their function room but didn't realise it was a group of travellers. The p****s started fighting amongst themselves, place got trashed, fight spilt out into the street, police called to break it up, needed the riot squad The pub nearly lost its licence thanks to these poor hard done by people from an ethnic minority

From my experience, Weatherspoon pubs tend to attract people on an 'economy of scale drinking plan'. During the day they seem to be popular with those who are waiting to die, those who wished they were waiting to die, pikeys and people who are waiting to be convicted of child sex crimes. Evening can be a little better, but we went into the Back of Beyond (the classy Wetherspoons of Reading) and it was basically full of the despondent, the chronic alcoholic and those who had styled themselves of an classic 'child sex offender'. I'm not sure they can be too upset with Pikeys.

Its an odd decision, given that a Landlord doesn't have to give a reason for refusal of admission, its granted as part of their license.

LOL the previous year the gaff got ripped up so you can't blame them. It's the landlord's discretion IMO. However, considering the Irish bakery just got busted for refusing to make a gay cake it shows that one cannot exclude anybody based on their make up.

Commercial law, a business must provide services in line with UK law on discrimination. You can't refuse paid services or goods to people on the basis of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation. Quite right too. The Irish Bakery didn't just get busted, they lost their appeal, again.

I'd argue Whetherspoons have been hard done by, the fact they have had past problems with them is more than reasonable grounds given it was the people at the convention at the previous year that caused problems. I'd also argue being a gipsy is a culture as opposed to being a race or religion, given the majority are Irish Catholics.
